24: 9:00am-10:00am

24: 9:00am-10:00am
Air Traffic Control is trying to figure out what happened with the plane on their screen. Tony tells the plane to switch to Runway 3-1 left, communicating as ATC. This means he can get the pilot of the plane to do whatever he wants.
Jack thinks that someone has infiltrated the FBI because there is no way they could have gotten a sniper on the roof that fast. Renee doesn’t believe that, and puts Jack in a time out.
Air Traffic Control’s screens go haywire as Tony tells SRI35 to land on the 4 Right runway, which puts them in a path with 317. Tony calls Air traffic control and tells them to pull up the surveillance tower. The planes are on a direct course for each other. Tony tells 317 to pull up at the last moment and says, “Now you know what we can do.” What does he want? “You’ll find out soon enough.”
A man named Emmerson meets with Tony and asks him how they found Schecter. Tony says they used Jack Bauer.
As a press secretary is giving a press conference about the President’s decision to intervene in Juma’s genocide, president is alerted to the situation at JFK. They tell her about Tony and what he has done.
Taylor meets with Matobo and asks him to punish Juma according to the law so that the cycle of violence isn’t perpetuated. He gives her his word.
Meanwhile, the sniper, Tanner, is stuck in the building, as FBI have surrounded it. He calls Tony and tells him that he is in the west staircase.
Jack, still in his time out, is given sympathy by the FBI driver, and says that it’s wrong what they’re doing to him despite all he’s done for his country. Jack uses this to ask for some air, and the driver allows him to get out of the vehicle. He doesn’t stay close.
Tanner, still stuck in the building gets a surprise visit from an FBI agent that Tony sent, who gives him an FBI jacket and allows him to escape. He exits the building, but Jack notices that he is not wearing black shoes like everyone else, and quickly identifies him as the shooter. Jack tells Renee that they should go on their own, and she is convinced. We get to see some of Jack’s crazy driving skills!
Tony and Emmerson bring the component to Dubaku, who was featured in Redemption. He is still mad that the U.S. government was responsible for the death of his brother.
The first gentleman, still on his quest to find out more about his son’s girlfriend worries his driver, who contacts Ethan (who is he?) so that he can tell the president.
Janice notifies Larry that Renee has left the scene, and he calls her to see what is going on. She lies to him and he can tell, so he has Janice triangulate the signal on Renee’s walkie.
On the car ride, Renee asks Jack how far he would have gone with Schecter, and he doesn’t answer. She stays on his back for his past, and he gets really annoyed about it.
The first gentleman, Henry, questions his son’s girlfriend about the $400,000 that she got, she says it is her aunts and she helped her hide it from the IRS. Henry isn’t buying it and gets surly with her.
Jack and Renee follow Tanner, who gets out of his car. He sees them, and sneaks through some crates where Renee pops out and Tanner draws his gun, but Jack already has his on him. Jack asks where Tony is and when he won’t answer proceeds to give a swift beating. Jack sees a security camera and uses a cloth as a silencer to shoot it. This alerts Tony to Jack’s presence. Jack goes further and uses Tanner as a human shield. Shots are fired and 2 of Tony’s men are killed. They enter the boat where Renee finds a computer that is deleting all the system files. Jack finds Tony and they duel. Jack pulls his gun and Tony t urns to look at him. Jack, seeing Tony’s face for the first time, hesitates, and Tony runs. Jack regains his composure and tackles Tony to the ground and they fight some more. Larry Moss comes in with a helicopter, having traced Renee’s walkie. Jack looks at Tony and asks “What happened to you?”
My Thoughts: The FBI agent who thinks that Jack is being treated unfairly—IT’S ABOUT TIME SOMEONE SAID THAT! I don’t know how many times I’ve thought those exact sentiments.
Latham: Poor guy… he was so timid and shy, every time the camera was on him he looked like he wet himself.
President’s Son’s girlfriend: I noticed she had what looked like an engagement ring on her right hand…
Tony: It was kind of heart wrenching to see the way that Jack has been reacting to Tony’s return. Tony was the only friend Jack had for a long time, and now he’s become something that Jack has spent his life to fight against. Tony has become this like hardened criminal. He looks so dead inside. Especially when Jack had him pinned up against the wall, there was nothing there.
Who I want to Punch:
Did you see that?!: Plane near miss
Best Line: What happened to you?
Worst Line: You’ll find out soon enough
Kill Count: 3, Tanner and 2 guards bringing the total to 4
Curse Count: 1 B word from Prez, 1 H from Larry Moss, and 1 of Jack’s favorite damn it from Renee

24: 8:00am-9:00am

24: 8am-9am
We start out on a D.C. street where a young girl is innocently texting in the backseat of a car. Her dad tells her to stop, she’s only allowed to use the phone in emergencies! She hangs up and of course her dad gets a phone call and answers. It’s not long before they are rammed into from the side by a black van, then again from the back. A masked man with oh-so-familiar eyes abducts the man (whose name we learn is Mr. Latham) and throws him into the black van. He can fix something for them.
Meanwhile, Jack is sitting before the senate being tried on charges of torture by Senator Blaine Meyer. Jack has decided to forgo the use of counsel, which Meyer advises against, but Jack just wants to get on with it. Meyer asks Jack who Ibrahim Hadad is. Jack says he was a member of a sleeper terrorist cell in 2002. He then asks if he was retained and extremely interrogated? Jack says yes. Did you break procedure? Jack says probably. Meyer says it seems like Jack doesn’t even care about these charges. Jack keeps his cool and calmly explains that he does not regret anything he has done. The tension is broken as an FBI agent, Renee Walker, interrupts and says she needs Jack. She calls Janice, an FBI analyst and they exchange words about the Homeland Firewall Project, something that Michael Latham has been working on.
The group that Tony is in is messing with GSA117, a flight from Reagan to JFK airport. They gain access to their communication and navigation systems.
Back at the FBI, the head, Larry Moss, want to help Renee Walker question Jack because apparently he’s one of those guys that goes off if you ask him the wrong thing. Renee says she can handle it. She tells Jack about the situation and he doesn’t understand why he’s been brought in, until she tells him that one man responsible is someone he knows… Jack sits in front the computer screen and watches as a picture of Tony becomes clear. He is obviously shocked and doesn’t believe it. Renee tells Jack that the EMTs rushed Tony away and that they don’t know what happened. She even had his grave exhumed and the DNA was not his.
Tony gets into the GSA117 system, but the CIP module stops working. He goes back to Latham and tells him that if he doesn’t fix it soon, he’s not going to need him anymore.
President Allison Taylor is watching CNN footage of Juma’s genocide in Sangala, where the death toll is now over 200,000. Her convictions about interfering in Juma’s plans have not changed, and she has called a meeting of the joint chiefs.
Latham manages to fix the CIP.
Jack and Renee are still discussing the case, and arguing about Tony. Jack still doesn’t believe that Tony has turned, and Renee tells him that he lost everything and now he’s rebelling against the government that he served for so long. Jack still doesn’t buy it.
At the joint chief meeting, not all are supportive of this intervention. The Secretary of State Joe (WHO) doesn’t see eye to eye with the president, and is delaying on a report that she needs. Taylor gets a call from the FBI about the targeting of air traffic control, and she decides to quietly ground all planes. Then she goes to meet with former Prime Minister Matobo.
The first gentleman has hired a private investigator to look into the alleged suicide of his son Roger. He finds out that Roger’s girlfriend received $400,000 3 days after Roger’s death, so he goes to see what he can find out.
Jack has decided to take on the case. He knows how Tony thinks. He sees a link and tells Sean, another analyst, to look up Hateris from August of 1999. He finds Gabriel Schecter, a man who sold government technology under the radar. The address puts him at 1208 Naylor Road Suite 630. Larry Moss has reservations about letting Jack go with Renee, but she convinces him. On their way to the hotel, Jack explains that he and Tony arrested Schecter and turned him, and used him for years without CTU’s knowledge. They get to the room and Walker is adamant about Jack not laying hands on Schecter. They knock and he answers, and is obviously nervous about Jack being there, but since there are witnesses around and an FBI agent, he lets them come in. He taunts Jack, “How’s the senate thing going, CTU is disbanded? Let me guess, it’s your fault!” Jack asks him where Tony is. Schecter says that he’s dead. One of his body guards pulls a gun and there is a scuffle but Renee and Jack gain the upper hand and Schecter immediately surrenders. He still won’t tell them about Tony, and Jack asks what he should do? Renee says, “Do whatever it takes.” Jack grabs a pen from off of the table and grabs his head, which causes a squealing Schecter to talk. He says, “The last time I saw Tony…” and 3 shots are fired from a sniper on the roof. Schecter dies. The phone rings, and Jack answers it. It’s Tony. He says to stay away from this whole thing.
Air traffic control is having a little bit of trouble with GSA117. Tony is in their system.
My Thoughts: Janeane Garofalo as Janice Gold… I don’t know if I like her. She seems too fidgety.
Tony is what Jack could have become a million times, but he never did. It will be interesting to see how he got involved with these people, since I don’t think it could have happened without him being involved before his death. The explanation of him being mad about losing Michelle and spending time in jail makes sense, but he couldn’t have decided in the 5 minutes of his “death” that he was pissed and wanted to turn bad. Something is going on here.
Allison Taylor has a great stare. It’s one of those that can bore into your mind and make you spill anything she wants to know. You can’t hide anything!
Who I want to Punch: Senator Blaine Meyer
Did you see that?:
Best Line: Do not sit there with that smug look on your face and expect me to regret the things I’ve done, because frankly, I DON’T
Worst Line: Anything out of the Senator’s mouth
Kill Count: 1, Schecter, 200,000, Sangala
Curse Count: 1 ass from Schecter

Jack is Back, and SO AM I!

Guess what, people?

It's that time again.

That's right. We are about to undertake (after diligently waiting for 1.5 years) another season of the awesomeness that is JACK BAUER.

And, with that, the return of Bauer Power Hour! I know you're all so excited.

Last season my podcast fizzled out anticlimactically. This is due mostly to the fact that I was working off of dial-up connection and it would often take 10 hours for me to upload the thing, and sometimes it wouldn't upload the whole thing. Of course this made me want to drop kick my computer into the nearest wall, but I refrained...

NOT THIS YEAR. I have overcome that obstacle, and have now added wireless/high speed internet to my arsenal.

In an effort to spice things up a bit, since I now have better resources and better technology, I am going to incorporate some new stuff. I will try to have some interesting interviews with different people, one including my roommate, who has never seen the show. I think it will be interesting to see how she reacts to it now... unless she hates it of course, then we'll just kick her off. :)

NOW TO THE GOOD STUFF.

I am so excited for this season! If it's anything like 24: Redemption was, we are in for a treat. It's getting good reviews all around, and of course we can't wait to see the return of TONY ALMEIDA. I can't wait to talk about all of this!

SO, Look out for a special 2-hour edition of Bauer Power Hour tomorrow and Wednesday, and DON'T FORGET TO WATCH TONIGHT!

Happy Viewing to all!

Bauer Power Hour 11:00am-12:00pm

Welcome to Bauer Power Hour, a re-cap and reaction to the weekly (hourly) adventures of Jack Bauer! It is January 30, and I’m Arielle. Let’s go!

[Show Re-cap]

CTU is watching Wayne’s speech on TV about the bomb detonation.
Tom says David made a promise that he can’t keep, then Karen comes in and is mad at Tom because he’s authorized police to start arresting people with a Middle Eastern background. Karen mentions the Constitution and Tom says that back when it was written they didn’t have to face the dangers that we face today and he LOVES the Constitution but won’t hide behind it.
Tom then goes back to his sneaky little advisor man and says he wants Karen gone.
Nadia found out about the racial profiling and because she is of Middle Eastern descent, she has to jump through hoops to clear security and do her job well. She talks to Bill about it and he tells her to stay focused on the bigger picture. He asks her if she’s heard from Jack yet.
Jack is still torturing Graem with the plastic bag. He takes the bag off of his head and Graem cries and says he doesn’t know anything, that their father cut him off. Jack motions to put the bag back on and Graem gives in and says Philip is just trying to clean up the mess he made, because BJX hired a man named Darren McCarthy to dismantle and recycle the bomb cores, and obviously the nukes went missing. Jack gets up and tells Graem they’re going to McCarthy’s office. They walk past Marilyn and Graem tells her they’re going to find their dad, and to not go outside. Jack and she exchange some looks.
5137 Olsen Ave., Seamy Valley.
Back at CTU, there’s no sign of Fayed and they think that he would be moving in the direction opposite of the fallout.
Graem whines in the car that he’s worried about his family and he thinks Jack wants revenge.
McCarthy’s still trying to find an engineer for the remaining nukes, and Fayed calls him and tells him to hurry up.
The FBI send CTU images of the group of men Walid’s infiltrated to see if they can ID any. Morris asks Nadia why she’s taking so long with something that should have taken 10 seconds. Up in Bill’s office, he’s explaining to Milo why Nadia is being a little slow, and then Milo comes down and sticks up for her and logs her in on his name so she can work properly.
On the Walid Feed, they’re talking about the bombs, and he finds out that one man has smuggled in a cell phone.
Tom’s sneaky assistant tells Tom he has people who are willing to testify and he basically owns them. Tom then goes and tells Karen she’s in the way and he wants her to tender her resignation, otherwise he will let out that Bill had Abu Fayed in custody at CTU and he let him go. Karen says it was a while ago and they had nothing to hold him on. Tom says he doesn’t care and that for Bill’s wellbeing and hers she should get out of his way.
Karen goes and talks to Wayne and tells him she’s resigning. Wayne asks if it has anything to do with Tom and that she can’t go because he needs her. Karen reassures Wayne that he has been strong and that he knows what to do! She asks to be transferred back to CTU, she thinks she can do a good job there. As she leaves, TSA asks her to sign some papers and she tells him to give them to Tom. He calls Tom and says she’s out of the way.
Jack and Graem get to the building and go to find McCarthy’s office on the 2nd floor.
Walid manages to steal the man’s phone, and is instructed to call the number 3110-597-3781 which would enable CTU to get all the information from the phone. Chloe receives the information which is just a terrorist website which is where they’ve been getting all their information about the bombs. The man notices his phone is missing and figures Walid took it, and the group start to beat him up.
Jack and Graem get into the office and look at McCarthy’s computer. There are deleted files from the BXJ contract which were deleted 10 minutes after the bomb detonated. Jack hears a noise and goes to check it out, handcuffs Graem to the wall. He finds a man and tells him not to move but is knocked down from behind and held at gunpoint, but a voice tells them to stop. It is Jack’s father.
Jack and Philip talk. Philip says he’s trying to keep Graem out of prison. Jack asks what the heck he was thinking? They go get Graem and the two men that held Jack hold him again. Philip tells them to put their guns down, that they work for him. Graem says no they don’t. He takes them both prisoner and puts them in a van.
McCarthy’s found an engineer.

Bauer Power Hour--10:00am-11:00am

This is Bauer Power Hour! It is Tuesday, January 23, 2007 about 3 o’clock in the afternoon, and I’m Arielle. Here’s where I’d normally post the warning but you all know the drill so let’s jump on in.

Show Recap
Wayne and his advisors are watching footage of the nuclear bomb that had just been detonated. One square mile of Valencia has been destroyed and the casualties are estimated to be no less than 12,000!!
Karen tells Wayne about there being four more nuclear bombs out there, and for his safety, he is moved down into the bunker. Wayne is very intent on speaking in front of the American people.
Karen calls Bill, and he tells her about Fayed and the safe house and they’re not certain if Fayed was in or not when the bomb went off.
Chloe is freaking out about Curtis and the tact team members who died and she says everyone she knows dies. Morris of course, tries to comfort his love.
People are freaking out in the streets with no idea what’s going on and are trying to escape the city. A girl runs out into the street and is almost hit by a maroon van, with whom other than Fayed inside. He calls the man who sold him the bombs, Derek McCarthy and tells him his scientist died in the blast and he needs him to find someone else who can reconfigure the bombs. Derek is mad that Fayed detonated the bomb in LA and is fleeing to Las Vegas, but Fayed says he’ll double the amount he paid if he will just try to find a new programmer. He agrees.
Jack is staring at the mushroom cloud in a sort of daze, and a man runs up to him asking for help. A helicopter has crashed into a building and there are two more men inside. Jack climbs onto the roof of the building and helps one man out and the helicopter crashes to the ground and explodes. The man asks what’s going on and Jack replies, “nuclear bomb,” in a very matter-of-fact way.
Jack calls Bill and tells him he’s back on the case!
Wayne gets information about Fayed from intelligence and they are trying to pinpoint the country that he his from, which may or may not have been involved with the attacks. An admiral suggests extreme force pretty much without knowing exactly which country is responsible, and Wayne says that they need to know for sure. He’s also mad at himself for releasing the scientist who detonated the bomb.
We see Fayed again and he stares in the back seat of the van to the four more visitors!
Assad is brought into CTU and people stare as he’s led into holding for questioning. Assad is surprised about the nuclear bomb and about Fayed, who had betrayed him 6 months ago. He gives Bill the name of a Russian arms dealer they were in contact with about a year ago, Gredenko.
Morris takes this information and compiles a list of business transactions with Gredenko. Lo and behold, number 17 on the list is an employee of BXJ Technologies, Philip Bauer, Jack’s father. Bill calls Jack to let him know and Jack reveals that they haven’t spoken for 9 years. Bill says they’re just going to bring him in and ask him some questions, but Jack says he wants to do it for himself. He goes to his father’s house.
At the Anacosta Detention Facility, the FBI and Sondra are fighting some more after they tell her they want to put a wire on Walid so he can get information from the group of men who were talking about the four visitors previously. They take him into the bathroom and start yelling, saying they found a connection to a terrorist in his wallet and making a scene, so the other inmates gather round and listen. They rough him up and wire him.
Jack calls his dad’s house, and gets a man named Sam. Sam says Philip left a couple days ago without saying where he was going and gave him his brother Graham’s number, 818-555-0175. Sam says Jack’s father regrets the way things ended between them. We then see that Sam is being monitored by a man named Liddey and he promptly calls Graham and we get the shock of a lifetime! Liddey says that Jack is poking around and Graham says they should have killed him when they had the chance. Nice.
Jack calls Graham and asks where their father is and he needs his help finding him. After they hang up he calls Chloe and asks her for Grahams address, 226 Pine Crest Road.
We then see another family, Graham’s and they are worried about the nukes. Graham tells his wife Marilyn and son Josh that he talked to Jack and she seemed very eager to hear about him and Graham calls her on it.
Wayne is talking to his advisors about the speech he’s going to give and once again Tom and Karen are on opposite sides of the matter. Tom wants to go for a way that would inspire fear, but Wayne says the ultimate objective is to “restore order and make the streets safe again.”
McCarthy, the bomb seller picks up a woman and says they have stuff to do so they’re not leaving LA. He calls Fayed and says he found someone. Fayed hangs up and says the remaining bombs will go off on schedule.
Nadia has been questioning Assad and when she finishes she tells Bill that she believes that he wants peace. Assad wishes Bill luck and then he is transported to DC.
On the FBI Walid Feed, the men fell for the attack and let Walid into their circle. A man comes up to him and asks him what it was all about and Walid seemed reluctant to tell but he says he was contacted by a man with some good ideas and says his name was Abu Fayed. The man doesn’t know who that is but he lets Walid into his circle anyway.
Jack gets to Graham’s house and Graham hugs him big time and Jack just kind of stands there. Josh comes out and Graham re-introduces them then they go into Graham’s office where Jack asks him about their father. He doesn’t say much and is being annoying so Jack punches him and knocks him out, ties him up with a lamp cord and says he better start talking or else it will start hurting.
Wayne has finished his speech and is noticeably scared, but he composes himself and gives his speech to the American public.
Graham is still not talking and says he doesn’t know anything and he swears on the life of his family. Jack looks him in the eye and says that’s not good enough. He tells Graham he brought this on himself and puts a plastic bag over his head and starts to suffocate him.

Thoughts
So I have been mislead, Nadia Yassir is not head of CTU, Bill is, I guess she’s just head of Tech or something. MY BAD!

Jack got the looks in the family.

Please don’t say that kid is Jack’s!

Whoreness runs in the Bauer family!

Punch—Graham!!!
DYST!—Bag on head
BL—“The president is talking do NOT interrupt” (Tom)
WL—Anything that came out of Graham’s mouth smarmy
KK—4001, undershot the estimate so the old kill count was 9,996 but now we add 4,000 more for my bad estimating skills and 1 for the guy in the helicopter = 13,997 SNAP!
CC—One DI from McCarthy and 1 SOB from FBI man. Jack still at one. Sigh.

AHHH Tune in next week for another exciting episode of 24, Mondays 8/7 Central on Fox and as you might have seen on the previews, it’s gonna be a doozie. Don’t forget to tune in on Tuesdays for a new Bauer Power Hour.

Bauer Power Hour--Premiere Show Part Two!!

{Hour One}
Hello and welcome once more to this special Double Length edition of Bauer Power Hour featuring another 2 hours of 24. This is Arielle and tonight was the second part of the two day four hour amazing premiere of the show. ONE MORE TIME, I want to reiterate that if you haven’t seen the episode shown on January 15 and don’t want it to be spoiled, please DO NOT READ—I do not want to ruin it for you! Let’s get started!

[Show Re-cap]

Assad and Jack are still h0t on the trail of the bomb handler.
There are more bombings and Fayed calls Wayne to offer a cease fire. He says there are 110 military combatants at a facility called Palmdale Military Institution. The President is to put these "freedom fighters"on a plane at free them by the end of the hour.
Wayne thinks about it, but Tom doesn't think it's a good idea. Wayne thinks agreeing will buy more time to find Fayed and if they don't by the end of the hour, they'll have to do it.
Following the handler, Jack is worried because they are getting to a road with no traffic soon. He thinks they should contact CTU but Assad doesn't want to involve them because who's to say they won't arrest him. Jack convinces him saying that they can give them satellite coverage of the handler.
Jack calls Bill to get satellite support and Bill informs Jack about the prisoners. Chloe can't get satellite for ten minutes which is too long. Jack calls for a tactical team to help him out. Curtis gets called and is told that Jack is working with Assad and he is confused and doesn't like it at all.
In order to keep with the handler, Jack steals a car and in his normal nutso driver way, catches up with the handler and barrels out of an alleyway and rams into his car. Assad is right behind. Jack gets out of his car and yells at the handler and yells screw you and drives away. Assad says he saw that whole thing and offers the hander a ride. When they're on their way, Assad calls Jack and leaves the line open, letting Jack listen to what they're saying and where they're going.
Fayed is in a warehouse and talking to his men about the component that Ahmed is bringing them and that the prisoner plane was just a cover for something else.
Ahmed, gun still in Scott's back, pushes him into his house, holds the family at gunpoint and makes the mom, Julia who is a nurse care for his wounds. He had extensive deep tissue damage so he would be unavle to deliver the package. Instead, he makes Ray deliver it, or he will kill his family.
Karen tells the President about Fayed and the handler and Wayne decides to go forward with getting the prisoners ready just in case the handler didn't lead Jack and Assad to Fayed.
Assad manages to get the address of where they're going. Jack meets up with Curtis and they are able to get satellite coverage.Curtis questions Jack about Assad and doesn’t like the idea of working with him at all.
Back at the house, Ahmed is in a ton of pain so he makes Scott go get him some prescription meds. While in the kitchen, Scott gets a knife. As Ahmed takes the pills, Scott thinks about stabbing him, but he can’t bring himself to do it.
At Palmdale Military Facility, the prisoners are getting prepped to get on the plane, as the President watches on a live feed. Tom comes in and tells Wayne about Sandra’s arrest and he demands to speak to her.
At the Anacosta Detention center, Sandra and Walid are taken inside. Once they are inside, Sandra gets a call from her brother and says that she is released. Sandra is mad because it was her actions that should be punished, and that Walid had nothing to do with it.
Walid is in line being processed when a guard mistreats another inmate. Walid stands up for him and is also beaten and taken into interrogation.
Back with Assad, he is ready to drop the handler off at his destination, and Chloe gets him on satellite. Curtis is still having his beef with Assad and wants to pull him out of the mission because of all the crimes he’s committed in the past.
The handler goes into a warehouse full of ammo and as the tact team surveys him, one man makes a noise and the handler hears him. A shootout ensues and the handler is hit and he dives behind the boxes of ammunition. He crawls back out, grenade in hand, and blows up the warehouse.
They are able to find a partial hard drive intact and they use that information to help them find Fayed.
Wayne is informed of what happened and tells Tom to start loading the prisoners on the plane.
Fayed is informed that the President has given into their demands and the camera pans to a suitcase.
Ray takes the package which turns out to be money to the place Ahmed instructed him. A man comes out and says that there isn’t enough money there—the component cost more than he thought and that he should come back when he gets more money. Ray calls Ahmed to tell him this and Ahmed tells him to get it by any means. Ray, in fear the lives of his wife and family, kills the man and takes the component.
The contents of the briefcase reveal a wiring schematic, and Assad says that they are for a nuclear device called a suitcase nuke. The Russians supposedly destroyed all of them but they gave one to a nuclear scientist who turned out to have several terrorist ties. His name was Hassan Numer, who is one of the prisoners at Palmdale.
Back at Palmdale, the guards receive Numer’s picture and search for him but he is nowhere to be found.
We then see a bus with a dead driver and a sergeant going inside. He opens the bathroom door at the back and Numer is hiding inside. The guard tells Numer to hurry up because Fayed is waiting for him.

[My Thoughts]

Negotiating with terrorists was very un-David like of Wayne

Every time I see Jack’s hand I want to cry.

If I were Scott and I had to go get Ahmed some pills and water, I would have poured some sort of drano or liquid that you’re not supposed to drink so he would have a seizure and die.

{Best Line} “I don’t know, it’s your personality flaw, not mine”
{Worst Line} “Load them on the plane”
{Kill Count} Okay so there were 112 in another bombing, 200 in yet another bombing, and four more, 2 for the handler bombing, the man with the component and the bus driver so added to previous count that equals 1,994 dead. Jack still at one.
{Curse Count} We finally get at Jack SOB! So his Curse Count goes up to ONE!
{Who I want to punch in the face} Now it’s time for who I’d like to punch in the face, or instead, in Jack’s case, who I’d most like to bite in the jugular! Ahmed pretty much was horrible. He just struck me as a really bad hostage holder and not really sure of what he was doing and he was overall a poo.
{Did you SEE that?!} I LOVED the accident that Jack caused with his crazy driving skills that are legendary… it was an awesome diversion and I love Jack hurrying away yelling SCREW YOU! That’s entertainment at its greatest.

{Hour Two}
[Show Re-cap]

At CTU, it is discovered that Numer was a nuke engineer in Germany and is able to prepare a nuclear device easily.
At the White House, Karen does a disaster projection, estimating that if the suitcase nuke were go to off, many thousands would die in the blast and hundreds of thousands would die in the long run. Wayne calls Jack and gives him command of the search for Fayed and Numer. Jack isn’t sure but Wayne says that he needs him and Jack said he would do his best. Curtis is STILL mad about Assad and Jack picks up that there might be a connection between the two of them and calls Chloe to check it out.
Numer gets to the warehouse where Fayed is and goes to work on the nuke but say he needs the component. Fayed tells him that it’s coming.
Ray calls Ahmed and makes him release one of his family because now he has the component as leverage. Ahmed tells him to choose and he chooses his son so Ahmed lets his wife go instead. His wife calls him when she’s out and Ray tells her not to call the police and that they have to handle it themselves. Ahmed tells Ray the location, 351 Old Mill Road, Valencia, and he gets on his way. Julia, the wife, calls the police anyway.
Milo and Morris have been fighting with each other like two high school girls who called each other fat the whole time and it’s finally revealed why: THEY LOVE CHLOE!!!
CTU gets the call from Julia and they take a team to go get Ahmed and save Scott.
An Islamic Ambassador comes to talk to the President. Wayne asks him if Assad really will negotiate a cease fire and the Ambassador says he strongly believes he will and because of his reputation, many terrorist groups would follow his lead. Wayne thanks him and then contacts Assad and offers him a pardon and protection in return for his cease fire.
At the Detention Center, Walid talks to the man he stood up for earlier. Another man comes over to talk to him and the two men start speaking in Arabic. Walid seems to catch onto something that they were saying.
Ray delivers the package and Numer says it will take 20 minutes to complete assembly. If Ray cooperates, they will let him leave. Fayed calls Ahmed and tells him to dispose of the hostage.
Wayne proceeds with the pardon and debates with his advisors whether to tell the public about Assad or not.
Jack and Curtis go to get Ahmed and just as he gets ready to kill Scott, they bust in, freaking Ahmed out and sending him running and shooting out of the house. Then some bonehead comes around the corner and shoots Ahmed. Jack says they need him conscious enough to tell them where he sent Ray, but Scott remembers the address and tells them. The team then preps to go get Fayed.
Sandra visits Walid at the facility and he tells her about the two men he heard talking and that they kept repeating something: Hamsah Zawah Ziodah. (I know that's spelled horribly wrong, but it lets me say it right) He didn’t know what it meant but he thought it could be of some use.
Jack brings in the pardon for Assad to sign and goes to explain to Curtis that the president had made the decision to pardon him and he will help them find Fayed. Curtis finally gives in saying if that’s the way it has to be, that’s the way it has to be. Assad gets ready to be taken back to CTU.
Chloe calls Jack and tells him about the connection between Curtis and Assad: Curtis was on a Special Forces team and they were ambushed by Assad and his men. They got two hostages and made them confess to crimes and then publicly beheaded them. After Jack hangs up with Chloe he looks for Curtis.
He had gone after Assad and was holding a gun to his head. Jack tries to reason with Curtis and get him to let Assad go, but he won’t do it. Jack had no choice but to shoot him.
This shook Jack so much that he staggered and threw up and collapsed onto the ground with tears in his eyes. Bill calls him and tells him he heard what happened and that Curtis left him no choice. Jack says he can’t do this anymore, and that he’s done.
The team gets to the warehouse to go get Fayed, Wayne watching on a feed. Numer is just about done prepping the nuke. He finishes and as the team goes in to get Fayed (who has left the warehouse by now) Numer detonates the bomb.
At CTU they get a call about some words that might be of some help: hamsah zawah ziodah. Nadia recognizes it to mean 5 visitors, a term that refers to the nuclear bombs. There are four more out there somewhere.

[My Thoughts]

No matter what Jack does it seems like he’s sacrificing himself anyway. I mean obviously actually expecting to die was one thing, but he’s constantly giving up parts of himself for everyone else. When Wayne asked him to take charge and he had to shoot Curtis, that totally killed him.

No matter what Karen and Tom are always on opposite sides of an issue. Sometimes I agree with Karen and I think I agreed with Tom like once, but they’re always opposite.

When Curtis was shot and slid down the car, his face just slayed me. It was so heartrending.

{Best Line} I got really into this episode so it was hard for me to remember exactly what people said. I guess I’ll give it to Scott for telling Jack the address to where Fayed was. Not exactly a YEAH BOI line but he saved the day. Almost.
{Worst Line} This one goes to Jack. When he told Bill “I’m done” it broke my heart. We need Jack!
{Kill Count} Jack’s kill count goes up to 2, RIP Curtis, 1 because Ahmed died en route to the hospital and I don’t know exactly how many died in the blast but going off of what Karen said earlier about many thousands dying in the blast I’m going to estimate probably around 8,000? So added to the last number the total casualty count is 9,996. Holy Cow.
{Curse Count} I actually didn’t catch any of Jack’s favorite words.
{Who I want to punch in the face} I’m going with Numer because he detonated the nuke giving him highest kill count so far and being the biggest pooper.
{Did you SEE that?!} Definitely the Curtis moment. I really hoped that he could keep a lid on his anger and detach himself from until the end but he just couldn’t. RIP Curtis Manning.

Bauer Power Hour--Premiere Show!

Hello and welcome again to this special Double Length edition of Bauer Power Hour featuring 2 hours of 24. Tonight was the amazing premiere of the show. Again, I want to reiterate that if you haven’t seen the episode shown on January 14 and don’t want it to be spoiled, please do not listen—I do not want to ruin it for you! We’ve got a lot to cover so let’s jump right in!!!

[Show Re-cap] Hour 1:

There have been numerous terrorist attacks in the last 11 weeks in 10 different cities. People are scared and paranoid. Just after an Arab man is refused a seat on a bus, it is blown up by another man inside.
At the White House, President Wayne Palmer and his advisors are trying to come up with a plan to deal with all of the attacks, let by a man named Asad. One of his advisors, Tom Lennox, says that they should set up detention centers, similar to what Roosevelt did with the Japanese in World War Two. Nobody seems to like this idea but it seems like one of their only options.
At CTU, Chloe is trying to follow up on a protocol, while Nadia, the new head of CTU informs her that they have a lead on Asad from Jack Bauer, whose release had been negotiated by the President two days ago.
At a landing pad, Curtis and Bill wait for Jack to land. He comes out of the back looking extremely haggard and a little disoriented. The Chinese consul wanted Bill to tell the President that Jack didn’t say one word for two years. They hand Jack over to Bill, who informs Jack of what has been going on. He tells him a man named Abu Fayed is willing to give up the man behind the attacks, Asad, for a price—he wants Jack dead and they will know if CTU tries to monitor them, so he would be sacrificing himself. Jack understands this and cleans himself up, revealing scars all over his body.
Bill calls the White House and informs Karen, his wife, that they have Jack.
Back at CTU, Chloe obviously wants to know what’s going on with Jack and pries Nadia for information, but Nadia says she can’t discuss it. Chloe then blackmails her into telling and she says that Fayed wants retribution for his brother. His brother led a bombing of an embassy in Lebanon and died while Jack was interrogating him. This really freaks Chloe out and she tries to find another way, but this is the only way.
President Palmer calls Jack and wants him to know that his sacrifice will not be in vain. Jack says he knows what is expected of him. After he hangs up, Wayne has doubts about his decision about Jack, but Tom reiterates to the President that this is the only way. Tom leaves the room and Karen informs him that the National Guard has gotten orders to start setting up detention centers which was against the President’s orders. Tom says that he was just anticipating the President’s later decision.
Bill and Jack come to a deserted place where Fayed is monitoring them. He instructs Bill to handcuff Jack to a grate.
We are then introduced to a family who are watching news of another bombing. Their son Scott is friends with a young boy named Ahmed whose father has just been arrested. After his father is taken, angry neighbors try to break into his house, but the father of the family, Ray, stops them in time and tells Ahmed to come to their house so they can protect him.
The military is getting ready to get Asad after they get his location from Fayed. Morris goes over to Chloe’s station and says that he has a way to get a visual on Jack. He gets access to a private satellite that’s off the CTU grid.
Unfortunately, one of Fayed’s team picks up on the satellite and Fayed calls Nadia telling them that they have 30 seconds to redirect the satellite or he will not tell them where Asad is. Obviously Nadia has no idea what’s going on and she and Milo (who is back) manage to find out where the signal is coming from in time to stop Chloe and Morris and redirect the satellite. Fayed tells them that because of their deception he will have to think about whether or not he will give them the location.
Karen calls to say that President Palmer worried because they should have heard from Fayed by now. Bill tells her about what happened with Chloe. Karen tells Bill that they cannot mess up this mission because the country would never recover from the things that some of the advisors are willing to do.
Meanwhile, back at Fayed’s hideout, they take Jack and handcuff him to a chair, hook him up to a heart monitor, and start to torture him exactly like Jack tortured Fayed’s brother. Jack tells him that he must call CTU and tell them the location. Fayed then says that Asad has been trying to negotiate a cease fire with the West and wants to stop this whole thing. So the person who is really behind the attacks is Fayed. Fayed calls CTU and gives them the address of the place where Asad is and says there is a transponder there. He then resumes torturing Jack but gets a phone call from Ahmed, saying there was a complication because his father was arrested. Fayed says as long as Ahmed delivers the package, everything will be alright.
While Fayed is on his phone call, Jack manages to slip off the heart monitor and play dead. One of Fayed’s men goes over to check him and while he’s leaning over, Jack bites him in the neck, tearing open his jugular vein and kill him. He grabs the key from the guard and escapes.

[My Thoughts]

Wooooooooooow. I am in shock. I had so much adrenaline pulsing through me especially at the end. I thought it was kind of awkward to see some Chloe gropeage…

Most of what I thought about was how Jack looked sooooo worn down and looked almost timid and that’s just really unnerving.

Also, I’m trying to figure out if I like Wayne as President. Basically for 24 it’s a What Would David Do kind of thing so I try to think about what David would do in a situation, and if they don’t do that then they suck. I think Wayne’s really trying to ask himself the same thing though, which is good.

I kind of felt like they were trying to reassure not only all the characters in the show, but also all of the viewers that sacrificing Jack was the only way to stop these attacks and that it had to be done. They said it about six different times.

I couldn’t help thinking that Chloe might have thrown up after Bill told her that because of what she and Morris did that they might have sacrificed Jack for nothing. Which is like a punch in the stomach for Chloe.

I couldn’t help but feeling so drained of energy from everything that was going on and my heart aching for poor Jack so it was nice to get to scream ‘YEAHHH BOIIII’ at the end. WOW.

{Best Line} “Do you understand the difference between dying for something and dying for nothing? The only reason I fought so hard to stay alive in China was because I didn’t want to die for nothing. Today, I can die for something. My way, my choice.”—Jack
{Worst Line} “Because of your deception I have to think about giving you Asad’s location”—Fayed
{Kill Count} Because of the many bombings, the casualty count is huge. From what I was able to gather, there were about 1,423 from the bombings, and of course, Jack’s awesomely amazing kill, 1. So all together we have 1,424.
{Curse Count} There were 3 instances of either of Jack’s favorite curses, but none of them were from Jack. We had two Damn Its from Bill and Karen, and One SOB from Bill. Had to count them.
{Did You SEE That?} Obviously and most AWESOMELY HAS to be Jack’s astounding escape from Fayed. Seriously. I freaked out for about 15 minutes afterward.
{Who I’d Most Like To Punch In The Face} Well it was between Fayed (obviously) for being a poo-head, and Morris for trying to be all suave and cool and almost ruining everything, but Fayed wins for making me watch Jack get tortured and pulling that “Oh I fooled you ALL!” crap. Jerk.

[Show Re-cap] Hour 2:
Fayed is enraged that Jack escaped, so he goes looking for him, but they don’t have enough time because they have a mission to carry out.
Jack gets a hold of a phone and calls CTU and tells them that Asad is not the man responsible, that it’s Fayed. They patch him through to the President and repeats what he found out. The President and his advisors are skeptical about it, and they decide to go on with the airstrike anyway.
Jack knows he’s right (obviously) so he goes for Asad by himself.
Meanwhile, back at the house of the family we met earlier, Ray tries to find out where the police took Ahmed’s father. Ahmed gets a call from Fayed asking him if he has the package yet. Ahmed says not yet, but he will soon. He tells Scott, the son that his uncle is at his house and he’s going to go back.
Jack gets to Asad’s house and gets inside. He tells Asad about Fayed and the airstrike. Asad and his men are wary of him so he puts down his gun. He tells them about the transponder and they say they’ve searched the house. Jack looks around and tells him it’s on one of his men. They find the man with the transponder and Asad, the man, and Jack all leave the house just in time for the airstrike.
At the Islamic-American Association, the FBI are trying to get access to their personnel database. A feisty woman who is the lawyer of the company comes out and says they need a warrant. After they leave, she calls her brother, Wayne.
After their conversation, Bill calls to tell Wayne that Asad was not in the house when it was struck. They figured someone rescued him.
Fayed and his men arrive at a warehouse, where a man is getting a bomb strapped to him, getting ready for another attack.
Jack and Asad go into an abandoned house and interrogate the traitor about Fayed’s whereabouts. Jack tries to get it out of him by force, but at the sight of the man begging for mercy, he recoils and looks stunned. Asad picks up where Jack left off and gets the man to say where Fayed is, then kills him.
Meanwhile, back at the IAA, the FBI is back with a warrant. They now have no choice but to give them access to the files. Sandra Palmer (feisty woman) thinks they are invading privacy, and hurriedly deletes all the personnel files before the FBI can get to them. She is then arrested.
Back at Ahmed’s house, he gets the package and then is ambushed by his angry neighbor again. They get in a huge fight before Ahmed pulls a gun out of his backpack and shoots his attacker. Scott (his friend) comes in to see if he’s okay, and says they have to go to the hospital. Ahmed pulls the gun on Scott and says no, they don’t.
Asad and Jack go to the location the man gave them which is the subway. There are two men, one, the bomber, the other, the handler. Jack goes for the bomber while Asad tracks the handler. Jack gets on the subway train, but doesn’t have a ticket. The ticket taker comes and Jack tells him that there is a terrorist with a bomb on the train, so he needs to act normally and walk away. There can’t be any commotion or he will detonate the bomb. Jack makes his way over to the bomber, but the ticket taker keeps staring and starts to tell someone. The bomber is about to detonate the bomb when Jack grabs his hand and they fight for a while, but Jack is able to kick him out of the car before the bomb exploded.
Jack and Asad are still on the trail of the handler, who they think will lead them to Fayed.

[My Thoughts]

I loved the way that Wayne smiled when he found out that Jack had escaped from Fayed. That is exactly the reaction I would have had.

I don’t know why these people are so skeptical of what Jack said. I mean seriously, everything he’s ever said before has been valid, and just because he’s been in prison for two years doesn’t suddenly make him a nut job. It would with anyone else, but not with Jack.

I knew I didn’t like Ahmed from the start. Sometimes when was talking to Scott, he looked a little militant-y and that whole thing about Scott needing good luck was extremely suspicious. Geez.

When Scott said that he and Ahmed were friends and Ahmed was like, “You don’t even know how to pronounce my name… it’s not Amed, it’s AH-Med.” I was reminded of every time someone pronounces my name wrong but just because they call me Ariel doesn’t mean they’re not my friend. For the most part.

You have to wonder what suicide bombers think about in the minutes leading up to martyring themselves. That guy on the train looked kind of afraid.

{Best Line} “This is going to get much worse”—Wayne Palmer. Well said.

{Worst Line} “That would mean Jack bought the farm for nothing!”—Milo. How tactless was that?!?!?!

{Kill Count} 4 for Asad’s men, 1 that Ahmed killed, 1 for the traitor man, 200 for some more bombings, 1 for suicide bomber, and 47 for another bombing which equals 254 added to the previous 1,424 for a total of 1,678 casualties. Jack count is still at 1.

{Curse Count} Only one instance and it still wasn’t Jack. Hmph.

{Did You SEE That?!} Definitely Jack’s awesome last minute ejection of a suicide bomber from the subway train. He’s awesome.

{Who I’d most Like to Punch in the Face} I don’t like Tom Lennox. Every time he opens his mouth I just want him to shut up. Seriously.

Bauer Power Hour Pre-Show

The first podcast of my life and of the 24 seaons....

I am a very recent convert to 24-ism and have spent the last 4 months or so trying to catch up on seasons 1-5. I couldn’t be more excited about starting this season out

Basically the premise of this podcast is to re-cap and respond to each episode of the awesome FOX drama 24. I will sum up what happened so if you haven’t watched the most recent episode, I recommend holding off listening to me until you have. I know when people ruin stuff for me I want to punch them, and I don’t want any of you out there secretly wanting to punch me. Also, I will put in my two cents.

SO. Jack has been captured by the Chinese after a lingering kiss from his loooooooover, because they still have a huge chip on their shoulder about the whole “storming the consulate” thing and the resultant death of their consul which WASN’T EVEN JACK’S FAULT!! Anyway, they’ve taken him away and beaten him up and he hasn’t looked too good in the previews I’ve seen.

I’m a little nervous just because 24 always finds a way to make me pee myself. Also everyone’s been all relaxed and groovy since Kiefer has supposedly signed on for 3 more seasons… But I have a theory that maybe they’re just trying to lull us into a false sense of security and they’re LYING TO US! I just don’t want to be too caught off guard by anything, even though I know that it is an inevitability.

There are some things we know for sure this season, on the other hand… I won’t go too deeply into them just in case you don’t want to hear it

**MINOR SPOILER**

1. Wayne Palmer is now the President of the United States—innnnnnnnnnteresting…. Hope he’s good and has integrity like his brother. RIP!
2. More with the Palmer clan
3. Milo Returns!
4. Jack’s Daddy-o comes out to play

As the season starts up I’m going to start keeping an assortment of entertaining lists which will detail these things after each episode

Whom I’d most like to Punch in the Face
DID YOU SEE THAT?!?!
Best Line (One that makes you go yeahhhhhhhhhhhh boiiiiiiiiiiii!)
Worst Line (One that makes you go BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO)
Kill Count
How Many Time Jack Says Damn It! Or SOB!!

At the end of the season we will be able to see the final tallies and also the compilations of all these fun things.

All of these podcasts will be transcribed at www.BauerPowerHour24.blogspot.com. You can leave me a comment there or leave me a message at 206-202-0956. I would love to hear from you!

I can’t wait to start our wonderful 24 hour journey together, and no matter how hokey that sentence just was, I know you’re excited too. Heheeeee!

See you after January 14 and 15--the 2 day 4 hour premiere of 24
